We highly value our employees and invest in them by offering opportunities to expand their career and life skills. We are looking for motivated and compassionate people who want to grow their career working with youth and have a desire to give back to the community.

About the role

The Assistant Site Coordinator has a unique dual role: you work directly with students and also have leadership and administrative responsibilities. You will collaborate with administrative staff at the school, develop lesson plans, track attendance, and ensure grant compliance. This is a great position if you want to grow your leadership skills and advance within our company.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Site Coordinator by acting as the second point of contact for parents and administrators.
  • Oversee the safety and well-being of students during after-school activities.
  • Establish and enforce rules and expectations to promote positive behavior.
  • Coordinate, manage, and participate in indoor and outdoor enrichment activities.
  • Attend trainings or staff meetings to stay updated on best practices in childcare, safety, and program management.
  • Address challenging behavior constructively, involving supervisors or parents if necessary.
  • Facilitate sign-up procedures to ensure accurate attendance tracking.
  • Create unique clubs for students (e.g., career readiness, cooking, anime, dance).
  • Organize and lead activities including homework help, recreational games, arts and crafts, and educational projects.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in ethnically and culturally diverse communities.
  • Strong communication skills to interact comfortably with both kids and parents.
  • 48+ college credit units completed (verified by college transcripts) OR passing an academic proficiency exam.
  • Negative TB test (proof required) and passing a Live Scan background check.
  • Reliable commute to the school site before starting work (required).

English-Spanish bilingual speakers are highly encouraged to apply. If the school requires a Covid-19 vaccination, documentation of full vaccination is mandatory.

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning Shift (Optional): 6am–8am
  • Afternoon Shift: 2pm–6pm (one day per week is a minimum day, approximately 12pm–6pm depending on the school)
