About the role

The Assistant Site Coordinator works directly with students and has leadership and administrative responsibilities. They oversee student safety, establish rules, coordinate activities, facilitate sign-ups, and organize unique clubs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Site Coordinator by acting as the second point of contact for parents and administrators.
  • Oversee the safety and well-being of students during after-school activities.
  • Establish and enforce rules and expectations to promote positive behavior.
  • Cookordinate, manage, and be involved in indoor and outdoor enrichment activities.
  • Attend trainings or staff meetings to stay updated on best practices in childcare, safety, and program management.
  • Address challenging behavior constructively, involving supervisors or parents if necessary.
  • Create unique clubs for students, such as career readiness, cooking, anime, and dance!
  • Organize and lead a variety of activities, including homework help, recreational games, arts and crafts, and educational projects.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in ethnically and culturally diverse communities.
  • To be a good communicator and be able to talk to both kids and parents comfortably.
  • College transcripts showing 48+ college credit units completed OR passing an academic proficiency exam.
  • To get a TB test (and provide proof that it is negative) and pass a Live Scan background check.
  • If English-Spanish bilingual, your resume will stand out.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to commute before starting work.

Pay

The Assistant Site Coordinator position is part-time, non-exempt. The schedule is flexible, with options for morning shifts and afternoon shifts.

Schedule

The Assistant Site Coordinator works Monday to Friday, with options for morning shifts (6am-8am) and afternoon shifts (2pm-6pm), with one day being a minimum of 12pm-6pm depending on the school.
