Assistant Service Manager – Power Systems

About the role

Ensure that all team members conduct all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures and regulations. Wears and enforces wearing proper personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Service Manager to manage the Ring Power Service Department in such a manner that both the company and its customers receive the maximum return on their investment.
  • Confers with the Service Manager and other administrative personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
  • Works together with Product Support Group and New Machine Sales to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction is achieved.
  • Indirectly supervises employees on the team.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ensures the Service Department stays profitable and offers the best possible product support to our customers.
  • Controls direct expenses, expense hours, and new machine service and policy allowance warranties.
  • Aids in the creation of Standard Operating Procedures to achieve goals and improve safe and efficient operations.
  • Provides training on processes and implements measurements to monitor progress and adherence to procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Formal Education: High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience: 1-2 years. Not Required but Highly Desired.
  • Criteria: Strong project management skills. Proven skills in judgment and decision making, complex problem solving and critical thinking. Use of data to make informed business decisions. Associate’s degree from a college or university or related equivalent experience.

Updating of Knowledge

  • Job requirements change requiring re-training to stay current every 1-2 years.
