Essential Job Duties
- Aids with planning, implementing, and overseeing the work of staff members to ensure efficiency and compliance with organizational requirements and company procedures.
- Monitor and direct all dispatching activities, including tracking, routing, and dispatching transportation vehicles.
- Assist in directing work activities designed to promote work safety and encourage continuing education among staff members.
- Implement changes to transportation services, policies, or scheduling as needed.
- Ensure staff members fully and consistently comply with safety rules, administrative procedures and policies and government regulations.
- Collaborate with staff members and fellow managers to create, modify, and implement goals, procedures, policies and objectives when the opportunity presents itself.
- Build and maintain a culture for proactive safety-focused, productive, efficient, low-attrition workforce.
- Coach team members to develop talent and depth to enable growth and effective operation.
- Produce high levels of service, including on-time pickup and delivery and claims-free environment.
- Produce high levels of productivity and optimal levels of labor spend.
- Collaborate with the Sales team to identify opportunities for growth and work with all shareholders to integrate new opportunities into the network.
- Manage customer concerns to agreement of customer and company and inform other company personnel of resolution.
- Coordinate with Fleet and external services to maintain and repair company vehicles.
- Maintain and submit required vehicle records.
- Review equipment allocation by route and linehaul, and plan as needed.
- Aides in controlling expenses and operating within budget.
- Approves and processes external invoices according to Company procedure.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of two years of experience in LTL Operations or comparable leadership roles.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication (written and verbal), analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.
