About the role

The School Service Director for Procurement Department of Elementary and Secondary Education-Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled assists schools with procurement rules, purchasing needs, and options. They train school staff on state statutes, regulations, and procedures regarding procurement. They verify vendors, process purchase orders, and assist in managing all MSSD contracts through MissouriBUYS and SAM II. They coordinate with DESE Accounting and Procurement regarding purchase orders, and provide administrative support for all purchasing and payment activities initiated by MSSD. They also process all ITSD purchase requests, prepare, reconcile, balance, and ensure accuracy of financial transactions, and develop ad hoc reports, spreadsheets, and other financial documents.

Responsibilities

  • Aid schools with procurement rules, purchasing needs, and options.
  • Train school staff on state statutes, regulations, and procedures regarding procurement.
  • Verify vendors, process purchase orders, and assist in managing all MSSD contracts through MissouriBUYS and SAM II.
  • Cook up with DESE Accounting and Procurement regarding purchase orders, and assist with the business functions for MSSD.
  • Provide administrative support for all purchasing and payment activities initiated by MSSD.
  • Process all ITSD purchase requests.
  • Prepare, reconcile, balance, and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
  • Develop ad hoc reports, spreadsheets, and other financial documents.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited four-year college or university.
  • Or four years of successful supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years' experience in the procurement field.
  • SAM II and/or MissouriBUYS experience.
