Assistant Salon Leader

Yellowhammer Salon Group (YSG) operates over 75 full-service SmartStyle Hair Salons inside Walmart stores across 11 states, making us the largest operator of this brand in the United States.

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Salon Leader to oversee daily operations and ensure exceptional service delivery in our salon. You will assist the Salon Leader in achieving salon goals while delivering a range of hair services and contributing to the overall success of the salon.

• Instant clientele in the world’s busiest marketplace—an average of 5,000 customers per day (150,000 per month, 1.8 million per year) walk by your salon.
• Ongoing technical training and support from engaged leadership.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service while providing a full range of hair care services to clients.
• Demonstrate and develop strong technical competence in salon services.
• Ensure the salon team provides exceptional customer service.
• Help market the salon and grow the business.
• Manage salon schedules to meet business needs.
• Control expenses and complete required administrative tasks.
• Lead the team to accomplish sales and personal productivity goals.
• Uphold and promote the YSG vision and mission statement.
• Communicate effectively with salon team, peers, supervisors, Walmart staff, vendors, and customers.

Requirements

• Valid and current cosmetology license (required).
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills with clients and staff.
• Passion for the beauty industry and staying updated on trends and techniques.
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service and perform quality services consistently.
• Team player with strong leadership qualities.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating good judgment.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasionally alone in the salon.

Pay

• Earn up to 60% commission on services plus up to 25% on retail sales.
