Responsibilities

• Act as the heartbeat of the salon alongside the Salon Leader, supporting salon operations and providing leadership and tools for success.
• Lead by example to help the Salon Leader and teammates increase their clientele and business.
• Focus on the profitability of the salon and teach stylists the business aspects of salon operations.
• Set the example by providing all hair care services offered by SmartStyle and ensure the highest quality for each guest.
• Act as a coach and mentor to bring out the best in salon employees, fostering a positive work environment.
• Support the Salon Leader with recruiting, hiring, training, and handling conflicts and client complaints with professionalism.
• Perform administrative tasks, including closing out the system at the end of the day.

Requirements

• Current cosmetology/barber license as required by state/provincial regulations.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Tech-savvy with the ability to perform administrative tasks.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and basic math.
• Ability to travel to mandatory meetings and training sessions, including overnight travel.

• Keep the salon's bottom line in mind while creating a positive work environment.

Physical Requirements

• Good eyesight, including close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus for observing a guest’s hair.
• Comfortable with standing, lifting, and reaching; occasional lifting of 10-25 lbs.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements, bending, and staying active.
• Tolerance for chemicals and fragrances used in salon treatments.
