Responsibilities

  • Aid in field supervision and construction oversight, monitoring contractor activities for compliance with plans, safety protocols, and project requirements.
  • Document and report daily construction activities, ensuring safety, quality, and environmental compliance, and participate in precondition surveys, mitigation planning, and punchlist resolution.
  • Assist with environmental and regulatory compliance by monitoring programs, conducting NEPA evaluations, managing environmental control processes, tracking hazardous materials, and reviewing contractor plans.
  • Support project controls and documentation, including schedule and cost tracking, drawing and specification maintenance, processing requests for information (RFIs), submittals, change orders, and keeping systematic logs and records.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, implementing quality management plans, coordinating testing and inspections, reviewing documentation, and resolving nonconformances.
  • Engage in coordination and communication by attending meetings, preparing reports and presentations, documenting minutes, and supporting interface management across project disciplines.
  • Support safety management, project closeout, and asset management activities, including reviewing contractor safety plans, responding to incidents, closing out packages, conducting asbuilt reviews, tracking warranties, and contributing to maintenance strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in construction management, field engineering, or inspection on large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with federally funded projects and regulatory frameworks, including federal, state, and local codes, standards, permitting processes, and Buy America requirements.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, project controls, quality assurance processes, document control, and basic cost and schedule management.
  • Working knowledge of environmental compliance, safety management, and sustainability practices, with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills, proficient in Microsoft Office and basic project management software, with BIM or CAD experience preferred, and willingness to work in the field and adapt to changing project needs.
