Description Duties

The Research Scientist 2 will conduct specific research projects to support data-driven decision making on current initiatives. This includes absorption analyses, predictive modeling, and forecasting analyses. The Research Scientist 2 will also develop new reports, dashboards, and analyses.

  • Responsible for conducting all phases of ongoing surveillance and research projects
  • Act as a database manager of various federal and state database systems
  • Aid the project team in designing and creating a dashboard
  • Develop predictive models for evaluating and forecasting the future of healthcare in New York State

Minimum Qualifications

Research Scientist 2 (Health Informatics), SG22: Bachelor's degree or higher in public health, health informatics, data analytics, epidemiology, statistics, public administration, government analytics, mathematics, social sciences, engineering or a related field and three years of professional research experience* in an appropriate field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A master's degree and post degree professional experience in data visualization, and statistical models and data mining tools, in the context of analysis and visualization of large data sets.
