About the role
The Estopinal College of Architecture and Planning (CAP) at Ball State University seeks an Assistant Research Professor of Architecture for a two-year term starting August 16, 2026. The position is open for an initial term with the possibility of renewal.
Responsibilities
- Develop and teach studios and seminars related to the candidate’s area of interest.
- Deliver a public lecture and prepare an exhibition based on their design research.
- Receive a 25% release for research to pursue a vigorous design/research agenda that culminates in an exhibition, public lecture, or exhibit, and potential publication of work.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Architecture or related field from an accredited college or university by date of appointment.
- Excellence in contemporary design, technologies, systems, visualization, and fabrication methods.
- Evidence of design research, design methodologies, and scholarship.
- Potential to take on a leadership role in shaping the future discourse of design disciplines.
Qualifications
- Commitment to expanding and advancing the culture of architecture and design through creative practice or research.
- Experience with innovative cross-disciplinary thinking that expands contemporary architectural discourse and practice.
Skills
- Ability to articulate an agenda for the fellowship duration.
