Assistant Research Professor - Anderson Lab
Position Specifics
The laboratory of Dr. Anderson at The Pennsylvania State University seeks an Assistant Research Professor who will work as part of a research team focused on understanding the process of lignification in plant cell walls. The successful candidate will design, perform, and analyze genetic, imaging, and biochemical experiments to dissect the redox enzyme-driven and polysaccharide-scaffolded assembly of lignin in plant cell walls; help complete project reports; and draft manuscripts reporting project results. The successful applicant must have the ability to plan, execute, interpret, document, and troubleshoot independent research and to collaborate effectively with other members of an interdisciplinary research team. The successful candidate will excel at mentoring junior members of the lab, contribute to the writing of manuscripts and new funding proposals, and communicate their science to peers and the public through presentations, writing, and digital formats. Excellent organization and verbal and written English communication skills are required. Professional development through the acquisition of new skills will be expected, and will be supported through faculty peer mentorship.
The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. focusing on plant cell walls and lignification.
