The Assistant Public Defender (Criminal Law) - Part Time - Cortland County Public Defender’s Office position involves representing indigent defendants in Criminal Court as assigned by the Public Defender. The Assistant Public Defender works under the general supervision of the Public Defender with wide leeway allowed for the exercise of independent professional judgement. Related work may also be performed as required.

Requirements

• License to practice law in New York State
• Minimum qualifications: Degree from an accredited college or university, with proof of equivalency if obtained from an educational institution outside the United States
