About the role

Under the general supervision of the Property Manager, assists in the overall operation of the property, implements policies, procedures, and programs; maintains an acceptable occupancy level and fosters a supportive environment for all residents, including those with special needs. Interacts with and oversees vendors, and establishes and maintains effective working relationships with on-site support staff. Interviews and screens prospective residents for occupancy. Prepares, processes, and signs leases and rules. Purchases general supplies and services following the PO policy and procedures. Assists with inspections and monitoring work orders. Handles rent collection, receipting, and deposit preparation using Boston Post property management software. Writes warning letters and prepares legal notices to residents. Submits required reports and maintains records according to JSCo policies. Performs related work and other duties as required.

Responsibilities

  • Reads, writes, and communicates fluently in English
  • Exhibits excellent problem-solving, listening, and deductive reasoning skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Has 1-2 years property management experience, preferably with Tax Credit properties
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation, capable of traveling for training purposes
  • Knowledgeable about company policies, federal, state, and local laws, Tax Credit Section 42, and other relevant rules pertaining to tenants

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • 1-2 years property management experience, preferably with Tax Credit properties
  • Prior experience in managing affordable housing complexes
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
  • Able to travel for training purposes
  • Knowledgeable about company policies, federal, state, and local laws, Tax Credit Section 42, and other rules pertaining to tenants
