Assistant Project Manger
About the role
The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager in coordinating and executing construction projects, assisting in maintaining schedules, managing documentation, tracking costs, and facilitating communication between project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
GrayWolf Integrated Construction is a national leader in structural steel fabrication and erection, specializing in delivering turnkey steel solutions for complex industrial and commercial facilities.
Responsibilities
- Manages all activities associated with the construction of an assigned project
- Supports Project Manager in all phases of assigned projects
- Assists with project planning, scheduling, and coordination of activities
- Tracks project costs, budgets, and assists with forecasting
- Prepares and processes submittals, RFIs, and change orders
- Maintains project documentation and ensures accuracy and completeness
- Coordinates with internal teams, vendors, and subcontractors
- Assists in resolving project issues and escalates as needed
- Attends project meetings and documents key actions and decisions
- Reviews drawings and specifications to support project execution
- Supports procurement and material tracking efforts
- May visit job sites as required
- Prepares reports and updates for project leadership

Qualifications
HS Diploma or equivalent, or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Construction Management, Structural/Civil Engineering, or Business may substitute for 3 years of the required experience.
2-5 years related experience as a Project Coordinator/Engineer or Asst Proj Mgr along with 3 years detailing/drafting, or experience as a fabricator or erector may substitute for detailing/drafting experience.
Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of the fabrication and erection of structural steel, and proven ability to read and interpret shop and design blueprint drawings.
Proven ability to manage large multiple commercial and industrial projects, and general knowledge of 3D modeling / Tekla practices.
Work Environment
Position requires as many hours needed to fulfill the daily and weekly obligations, including evenings and weekends, and frequent out of state air/road travel.
A clean driving record, current and valid driver’s license, and proof of acceptable insurance are required.
The position is generally indoors in a climate-controlled office, but frequent visitations to outdoor plant facilities will be required, with up to 25% travel time.
