Assistant Project Manager - Mechanical

Roles And Responsibilities

• Assisting in the design and project management of HVAC systems
• Planning, organizing, and executing facility projects
• Maintaining close interaction with other Project Managers, clients, vendors, and subcontractors
• Determining Mechanical Construction needs, constraints, and responsibilities
• Cooking with the project schedule
• Developing scope of work and project specifications
• Coordinating project-specific engineering
• Working with engineering to determine equipment specifications and procure materials
• Preparing and issuing purchase orders for subcontractors
• Approving invoices
• Providing complete closeout documentation and warranty coverage
• Aiding in reviewing and maintaining cost estimates of material, sub-contractors, purchased equipment, and other project-related activities
• Working with engineering on the specification and pricing of purchased equipment
• Optimizing job costs by negotiating prices with vendors/sub-contractors
• Documenting work by maintaining files for each job

Qualifications And Education Requirements

• Possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience
• Experience in preparing engineering calculations, energy modeling and savings calculations, construction drawings, and project specifications
• Knowledge of applied HVAC equipment systems, Building Automation Systems, and associated support services
• Strong communication skills
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test

Physical Demands

• Frequent sitting
• Occasional stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and climbing
• Frequent standing, walking, reaching and gripping
• Clear speaking and adequate hearing sufficient to communicate effectively and respond appropriately in-person and/or on the telephone
• Vision sufficient to read source materials and computer screen data
• Repetitive motions for computer equipment use

Work Environment

• Exposure to weather, extreme heat or cold, high noise intensity level, atmospheric conditions, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, wet and/or humid, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working high exposure places (job sites) and/or an office environment with conditioned air and bright lights
