Assistant Project Manager - Electrical Construction
About the opportunity
Our client is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support commercial and industrial electrical construction projects from kickoff through closeout. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in electrical construction project management while working alongside experienced project managers on a variety of challenging projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers with all phases of electrical construction projects from planning through closeout.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify installation requirements and potential design or constructability concerns.
- Help develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
- Cook up material procurement, subcontractors, vendors, and equipment to support project execution.
- Prepare and process RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, and project documentation.
- Attend project meetings and communicate effectively with customers, general contractors, engineers, architects, and field teams.
- Maintain project progress, labor productivity, and job costs while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support monthly billing, forecasting, cost reporting, and project financial tracking.
- Track inspections, testing, punch lists, as-built drawings, and project closeout documentation.
- Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring OSHA standards and company safety policies are followed.
- Support estimating activities, including quantity takeoffs, vendor pricing, and project proposals when needed.
Qualifications
- Ace an Associate’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Electrical Construction, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent electrical construction experience.
- Bring at least 3+ years of experience in electrical construction, project coordination, field supervision, estimating, or project management.
- Be able to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Show strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Show excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of a project team.
- Show proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Show the ability to travel to project sites throughout Wisconsin.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bring a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- Show experience supporting commercial or industrial electrical construction projects.
- Show knowledge of electrical estimating software (McCormick or similar).
- Show experience with project scheduling and cost management software.
- Show a Wisconsin Electrical Designer license or willingness to obtain.

Compensation
$110,000–$140,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 100% paid employee benefits, 401k match and opportunities for long-term career growth.
