About the role
The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager and Operations Teams in managing the project's safety, schedule, and budget. They also handle administrative and technical tasks such as scheduling meetings, maintaining project records, and coordinating with owners and consultants.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and attend project meetings
- Maintain all project records and monitor correspondence
- Organize and publish the project team organization chart
- Document items affecting the project budget, schedule, or quality through RFI's, PCO, PCCO, schedule minutes, etc.
- Review communications with Senior Project Manager/Project Executive (SPM/PX) before distribution
- Create full project schedules in formats dictated by contract documents or with an outside consultant
- Coordinate with public utilities to align with the project schedule
- Develop and approve the Chesapeake buyout schedule with the Project Executive/Vice President (PX/VP)
- Negotiate costs, durations, and scopes of work with vendors and suppliers
- Incorporate standard construction details into scopes of work and agreements
- Review commitments/communications with SPM/PX before distribution
- Prepare vendor contracts and purchase order agreements in Procore
- Customize trade partner Exhibit A and General Requirements for each trade to meet project requirements
- Price revised plans and scope of work, develop general scopes of work, and gather pricing from subcontractors
- Obtain trade permits from subcontractors and develop scopes of work for them
- Process submittals, RFIs, and daily coordination with the office and field
- Develop and track warranties and close-out documents
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience preferred
- 2+ years of progressive experience with a general contractor preferred
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications preferred
- General knowledge with construction management and office productivity software, including MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, Procore, Timberline, or other web-based or mobile document and project management solutions preferred
