About the role

A respected specialty concrete and masonry contractor in Anaheim, CA, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager / Concrete Estimator. This position offers an opportunity for an early-career construction professional to grow into project leadership while learning from experienced mentors.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with estimating structural and architectural concrete and masonry projects
  • Perform quantity takeoffs using On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, and related software
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to support bid preparation
  • Aid in project management activities from award through closeout
  • Avoid RFI, submittal, and change order management
  • Support client relationships through proactive communication and service
  • Participate in project meetings and assist with project planning efforts
  • Learn and implement the company's proven project management and estimating processes
  • Collaborate with field and office teams to ensure successful project execution
  • Contribute to a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, Estimator, or similar construction role
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience managing project documentation, RFIs, and change orders
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Detail-oriented mindset with excellent organizational skills
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a team
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with concrete, masonry, structural concrete, or specialty subcontracting
  • Procore experience
  • Bluebeam experience
  • On-Screen Takeoff experience
  • CAD experience
  • Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree
  • Field construction experience
  • Experience working for a specialty subcontractor

Pay

Competitive compensation up to approximately $130,000 based on experience
