Assistant Project Manager - Civil Construction

Responsibilities

  • Aid Project Managers in planning and executing heavy civil construction projects
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, scopes of work, and resource plans
  • Track project progress and provide regular status updates
  • Prepare meeting minutes, RFIs, submittals, procurement logs, and daily reports
  • Estimate, invoice, track costs, and document projects
  • Coordinate with field supervisors, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
  • Participate in progress meetings with project stakeholders
  • Review plans, specifications, and project documents to ensure successful execution
  • Support procurement, material tracking, and delivery coordination
  • Aid project teams in resolving field issues and maintaining project momentum
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and identify potential issues
  • Promote adherence to company safety standards and OSHA regulations
  • Affirm quality standards are maintained throughout project execution
  • Manage project budgets and cost controls
  • Track project scope changes and support change order documentation
  • Coordinate with project teams on contract administration and project reporting
  • Support procurement and subcontractor management activities

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in construction project coordination, project engineering, estimating, or project management
  • Heavy civil, site development, utility, excavation, or infrastructure construction experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and project documentation
  • Experience with Procore or similar construction management software
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
