Assistant Project Manager
General Responsibilities
Aid in managing environmental projects to ensure timely and cost-effective completion. Facilitate project completion according to scope; monitor progress and performance against the project plan. Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues to minimize delays. Manage resources, schedules, budgets, and vendor relationships. Conduct meetings and prepare reports to update project team and clients.
Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet targets and milestones. Communicate with clients and ensure work meets their satisfaction. Coordinate with senior reviewers (APRs) to ensure engagement at critical project stages. Handle invoicing, change orders, and collections.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities
Under direct supervision, manage small projects or phases of larger projects. Implement established project plans. Identify, resolve, or escalate operational issues and delays. Lead safety efforts, including safety planning and compliance. Analyze project requirements, perform calculations, write reports, and complete deliverables. Coordinate with external contractors to ensure satisfactory service.
Estimate project costs, resources, and time, monitor activities, allocate resources, and assign tasks to meet targets. Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate status internally and externally. Submit project deliverables within contract scope and schedule. Coordinate with APRs to ensure proper oversight and review at critical junctures. Develop an understanding of project risks and promote continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline relevant to the Firm (Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology), or at least 6 years of related experience.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history may be required.
