About the Role
The Assistant Project Manager will provide project, supervisory, and coordination support for ongoing project requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist project managers in documenting and logging change orders, submittals, requests for information (RFIs), and other project documentation.
- Attend meetings and assist with project coordination activities to facilitate project success.
- Work with supervisors, trade contractors, and suppliers to support the operations team.
- Manage schedules, project progress, shop drawing requirements, and material releases to ensure adherence to project objectives and timely deliveries.
- Assist Project Manager(s) in monitoring project performance, managing schedules, weekly reporting, project budgets, and quality standards in compliance with plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Assist in regular review of job costs, reports, project history, and purchase order history.
- Review and interpret plans, shop drawings, and other project documents to identify change management needs, trade-specific take-offs, and document pricing requirements.
- Cultivate a cooperative working relationship with managers, supervisors, fellow employees, and customers.
- Maintain knowledge of national and state-specific building codes/amendments and their application in projects.
- Attain and maintain knowledge of building construction means and methods.
- Accurately document project status updates in a timely manner.
- Manage tasks requiring changes in work plans or schedules.
- Attain and maintain familiarity with relevant trade systems associated with new construction.
- Reinforce safety standards and report accidents or incidents to the Safety Manager as outlined in Company Policy.
- Assist in managing the close-out processes, including updating punch lists and gathering information for record drawings.
- Assist in creating accurate and detailed material purchase orders for equipment and miscellaneous materials.
- Directly manage small construction projects under the guidance of a Senior Project Manager to develop experience for becoming a Project Manager.
- Maintain digital documentation such as purchasing and change orders.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or Project Engineer, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficient computer skills in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, etc.).
- Preferred: Experience in the new-construction field.
- Preferred: Associate degree and/or trade school.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, sit, and lift.
- Must be able to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions (heat, rain, cold, and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.

Schedule
Standard work schedule: Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 4:00pm and Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm. Must be willing to be flexible as job requirements may change.
