Assistant Project Manager
About the role
As an Assistant Project Manager at Prime Controls, L.P., you will play a crucial role in supporting the team by assisting Project Managers with system integration projects. Your responsibilities include coordinating submittals, manpower and staffing, resources, change orders, project tracking, and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Determining time frames, costs, procedures, staffing requirements, and resource allocation for project phases.
- Organizing required submittal documents for the documentation group.
- Purchasing parts, supplies, and technical instrumentation according to specifications and system designs.
- Acting as a liaison between departments and coordinating daily operations for assigned projects.
- Maintaining project documentation and updating it with change orders.
- Participating in project review meetings with contractors and customer representatives.
- Reviewing and updating change orders to ensure profitability and adherence to budget constraints.
- Preparing project reports for management, general contractors, customers, engineering firms, and others.
- Maintaining Job Hazard Analyses.
- Filling in for Project Managers when necessary for meetings and other tasks.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have a basic Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction management, project management, engineering, or a related field, with 3 years of full-time experience in the same or related field. Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office applications is required, along with the ability to apply technological solutions to planning or implementation assignments.
A strong understanding of programming, design, and construction principles is preferred, as is previous experience in industrial automation. Experience with industry tools and references such as estimating (RS Means or similar), scheduling tools (MS Project or similar), CAD or BIM based programs, visual communication software (Bluebeam or similar), project tracking and document control software (Procore or similar), and controls system knowledge of Rockwell hardware and AVEVA Software are also preferred.
Qualifications

Datacenter BMS and EPMS Equipment knowledge is also preferred. Experience working with Electrical installation contractors is beneficial.
