About the Role

The Assistant Project Manager supports pipeline projects by assisting the Project Manager and collaborating with business partners to plan, facilitate, and complete projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support with project schedules, budgets, scope of work, data entry, and other project requirements.
  • Manage all aspects of project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and project meeting minutes.
  • Prepare price change orders, project reports, and documentation.
  • Assist with reporting and tracking of projects.
  • Maintain accurate project records and provide timely updates to Project Managers.
  • Participate in project hand-off and take-off meetings.
  • Assist with proper project closeout, including transmittal of final documentation to the client and filing of electronic and hard copies of project materials.
  • Travel to jobsites as required.
  • Work with payroll to ensure accurate payroll information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, technical, or construction-related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and timelines through analytical problem-solving.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to interact effectively with managers, employees, vendors, and others.
  • Strong organizational, record-keeping, and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent time management and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-starter with problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify and meet customer expectations and requirements.
  • Works effectively both independently and in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, including effective listening.
  • Tactful, mature, and professional demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse personnel.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical Requirements: This position is primarily sedentary to light work. The employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods, use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, telephone, and office equipment, and occasionally stand, walk, bend, or reach. The employee may occasionally lift or move office materials such as files, binders, laptops, or boxes of supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.

Work Environment: Work is typically performed in a professional office environment, with occasional visits to field or construction sites as required. The noise level in the office is usually moderate. The employee may occasionally be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and construction noise when visiting job sites. All work must comply with Cal/OSHA safety and ergonomic standards, and employees are expected to use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering field areas.
