Assistant Project Engineer I (Site Civil )

Summary

SESI Consulting Engineers seeks an Assistant Project Engineer to join its Site/Civil Department. This role involves supporting the design of commercial, residential, mixed-use, and industrial developments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and update various engineering documents such as reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates, and design plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software.
• Assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical/geological data to inform project planning and design.
• Familiarize yourself with current local, state (NJ and NY), and federal permitting regulations.
• Occasionally travel to job sites as needed.
• Work Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
• 4-8 years of relevant professional experience in site/civil design, including site planning, grading, stormwater management, and erosion control measures
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Strong attention to detail, analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license in good standing
• Demonstrated ability to follow direction and work collaboratively

Salary and Benefits

• Base salary range: $75,000–$95,000
