About the role

The Assistant Program Director is responsible for the delivery of all clinical treatment services in an OASAS 820 certified and funded residential services program. They ensure the quality of treatment services, the fidelity of evidence-based service delivery and timely documentation of all group and individual counseling services and support services delivered by the facility's clinical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Implements, monitors and provides oversight of all clinical aspects related to the delivery of residential substance abuse services.
  • Provides supervision, guidance and coaching to Clinical Directors and other assigned staff.
  • Ensures timely completion of all clinical documentation through utilization of clinical reports.
  • Reviews and signs off on all treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, and discharge planning documentation.
  • Implements and ensures compliance with all clinical policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Oversees compliance with all referent communication and HRA STARS verification and reporting.
  • Led 820 utilization review process through coordination and collaboration with UR Specialist.
  • Responsible for adjudicating client issues including processing grievances and appeals of administrative discharges.
  • Ensures that staff maintains accurate and confidential clinical records that comply with external monitoring agency standards and internal policy and procedures.
  • Prepares all proposals and reports as needed.
  • Assumes responsibility for program operations in the absence of the Program Director.
  • Provides and implements formal orientation plans to newly hired direct subordinate staff.
  • Conduct regular clinical and administrative meetings with staff.
  • Prepares written annual evaluations on staff under their supervision.
  • Reviews evaluations of all clinical staff members.
  • Ensures that staff maintains accurate and confidential clinical records that comply with external monitoring agency standards and internal policy and procedures.
  • Oversees client systems including client orientation, structure, pro-vocational activities, house GI’s, etc.
  • Provides ongoing training for clinical staff and participates in Odyssey House in-service trainings.
  • Leads clinical quality improvement activities in collaboration with Program Director.
  • Represents Odyssey House at community and public forums.
