Assistant Professor Term - Gastroenterology/Hepatology

About the role

The Division of Gastroenterology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine is seeking a General Gastroenterologist to join a division engaged in diverse clinical and academic practice, research, including multiple NIH grants, and two NIH Center grants. The position is located at the Health Sciences Center and is a full‑time, regular term (fixed term) role.

Responsibilities

• See inpatients and outpatients with a variety of general gastrointestinal illnesses.
• Perform colonoscopy and upper endoscopy procedures.
• Manage functional GI disorders.
• Participate in clinical trials, outcomes research, and NIH‑funded research.
• Work with leadership to assist with inpatient and outpatient training of fellows.
• Participate in educational lectures and seminars for fellows, residents, and medical students.

Requirements

• Completion of an ACGME‑accredited fellowship in gastroenterology.

Skills

• Experience with colonoscopy and upper endoscopy.
• Experience managing functional gastrointestinal disorders.
