About the role
The Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy in the Fowler College of Business at San Diego State University (SDSU) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor with expertise in Accounting Information Systems or Auditing to begin August 18, 2027.
Responsibilities
- Teach in the areas of Accounting Information Systems or Auditing
- Develop a vigorous and independent program of research / scholarship / creative activity
- Engage in both campus and professional service activities
- Interact effectively with the business community
Requirements
- Doctorate in Accountancy or a related field, with all degree requirements met before the first day of the Fall 2027 semester, August 18, 2027
- Demonstrated expertise in the discipline and its methodologies
- Record of publications, presentations, and/or funding
- Demonstrated proficiency in interdisciplinary and collaborative approaches to research/ scholarship/ teaching
- University-level teaching experience
- Preparedness to teach students from diverse backgrounds
- Understanding of the mission and goals of the academic unit and SDSU
- Engagement in service or research with different populations in higher education
Qualifications
- A record of original research / scholarly / creative accomplishments and demonstrated capacity to a) develop a vigorous and independent program of research / scholarship / creative activity, b) teach graduate and undergraduate courses; and c) engage in both campus and professional service activities.
- Demonstration of past accomplishments and/or future plans in at least two (2) or more of the “Building on Inclusive Excellence” criteria.
