About the role

The West Virginia University School of Dentistry seeks an experienced Endodontist faculty member at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. This position involves classroom, laboratory, and preclinical instruction, as well as supervision in both the predoctoral and postdoctoral clinics. Faculty responsibilities include coordinating educational experiences with other departments in the School of Dentistry and the Health Sciences Center.

Responsibilities

  • Teach endodontic courses in the predoctoral and postdoctoral curricula
  • Supervise endodontic procedures in the predoctoral and postdoctoral clinics
  • Coordinate educational experiences with other departments in the School of Dentistry and the Health Sciences Center
  • Participate in scholarly activities, service, and personal development within the School of Dentistry
  • Engage in an intramural dental practice

Requirements

  • A D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree from an accredited U.S. or Canadian dental school or a foreign equivalent
  • Satisfactory completion of a CODA accredited postgraduate training program in Endodontics
  • Advanced training and a certificate in Endodontics
  • Board certification by the American Board of Endodontics or the desire to obtain board certification (optional)

  • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Evidence of positive leadership skills
  • A strong commitment to student development, patient care, academic excellence, service, and collegiality
