Assistant Professor - Population Health and Health Disparities

About the role

The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB) School of Public and Population Health (SPPH) is seeking an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, Tenure Track to join the Department of Population Health and Health Disparities (PHHD). PHHD aims to be the premier academic program leading research, scholarship, and education in population health in Texas with a national and global reach.

Responsibilities

- Conduct high quality research and disseminate findings through publications. - Collaborate with researchers at UTMB and researchers at the local, regional, national, and/or global level. - Obtain, sustain, and grow external funding for research and/or training programs. - Participate on current UTMB research grants and contracts. - Compete for, secure, and sustain funding for new projects. - Teach SPPH courses. - Advise and mentor graduate and/or medical students. - Serve on thesis and dissertation committees.

Requirements

- Sufficient years of related experience. - Experience in health policy or environmental health (e.g., environmental science, toxicology). - Moderate to significant teaching or training experience. - Master of Public Health preferred.

Qualifications

- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in a relevant field.

- Strong research skills. - Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
