Assistant Professor - Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Physician - Children’s Wisconsin

About the role

The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology/Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplantation at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and Children’s Wisconsin (CW), seeks a board certified / board eligible physician to join our expanding Division.

Responsibilities

• Join a nationally and internationally renowned, dedicated group of faculty and staff with a strong commitment to clinical care.
• Support the Pediatric Brain Tumor Program at Children’s Wisconsin (CW) with significant resources available to support further programmatic development.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including medical and surgical subspecialists, nurse coordinators, nurse practitioners, child life specialists, social workers, psychologists, dietitians, and rehabilitation specialists.
• Work in state-of-the-art facilities such as a Positron Emission Tomography (PET)-MRI, a pediatric Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), and a dedicated 18-bed pediatric neuroscience and rehabilitation unit with a comprehensive neuro-rehabilitation gym.
• Benefit from proton therapy opening imminently at our facility, a large Clinical Trials Office, a Clinical and Translational Science Institute, a Genomics Sciences & Precision Medicine Center, and a vibrant pediatric immunotherapy program.
• Participate in early phase clinical trials and expand therapeutic opportunities in brain tumors and targeted therapy.

Requirements

• Board certification or board eligibility in Hematology/Oncology.
• Experience in pediatric oncology and/or neuro-oncology is preferred.
• Strong clinical skills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an accredited residency program in Hematology/Oncology.
• License to practice medicine in the state of Wisconsin.

Skills

• Strong clinical skills and experience in pediatric oncology.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
