Assistant Professor- Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and defects of the oral and maxillofacial region.
  • Perform surgical procedures including: Tooth extractions (including impacted wisdom teeth), reconstructive jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), facial trauma repair, cleft lip and palate correction, removal of tumors and cysts.
  • Administer anesthesia and manage pain before, during, and after procedures.
  • Collaborate with orthodontists, prosthodontists, and oncologists for integrated treatment plans.
  • Educate patients and families on surgical procedures, risks, and post-operative care.
  • Maintain detailed patient records and stay current with advancements in surgical techniques and technologies.

Requirements

  • Completion of a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
  • Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS).
  • Licensure to practice in the relevant state or region.

Qualifications

  • DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school.
