Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and defects of the oral and maxillofacial region.
- Perform surgical procedures including: Tooth extractions (including impacted wisdom teeth), reconstructive jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), facial trauma repair, cleft lip and palate correction, removal of tumors and cysts.
- Administer anesthesia and manage pain before, during, and after procedures.
- Collaborate with orthodontists, prosthodontists, and oncologists for integrated treatment plans.
- Educate patients and families on surgical procedures, risks, and post-operative care.
- Maintain detailed patient records and stay current with advancements in surgical techniques and technologies.

Requirements
- Completion of a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
- Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS).
- Licensure to practice in the relevant state or region.

- DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school.
