Franklin & Marshall College invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Department of Business, Organizations and Society beginning August 2027. Appointment is for nine months per year (August - May). Immigration sponsorship is provided for specific roles that meet our sponsorship criteria.

About the role

The rank will be Assistant Professor or Instructor depending on qualifications. We are interested in candidates who can contribute to the department’s quantitative methods curriculum and teach upper-level undergraduate courses in business analytics, applied data analysis, and/or emerging technologies.

Possible areas of teaching interest may include one or more of the following:

  • Artificial intelligence
  • Digital transformation
  • Data-driven decision making
  • Data visualization
  • Digital presentation and communication tools
  • Business and societal implications of new technologies

The successful candidate will also contribute to a secondary area of the business curriculum, such as financial accounting, finance, marketing, operations, or management information systems. In addition, the candidate would offer courses that build on the Department’s offerings along with contributions in the College’s general education program, Connections. Faculty maintain active research programs and contribute to the College’s shared governance.

Responsibilities

  • Teach upper-level undergraduate courses in business analytics, applied data analysis, and/or emerging technologies
  • Contribute to the quantitative methods curriculum
  • Teach in a secondary area of the business curriculum (e.g., financial accounting, finance, marketing, operations, or management information systems)
  • Offer courses that complement the Department’s existing offerings
  • Contribute to the College’s general education program, Connections
  • Maintain an active research program
  • Participate in the College’s shared governance

Requirements

  • Possess or be close to completing a doctorate
  • Demonstrated ability or potential to contribute to inclusive excellence in teaching and student success
