Assistant Professor of Theatre

The Boston College Theatre Department invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, with the appointment beginning in August 2027. In exceptional cases, appointment at the rank of Associate Professor level may be considered. We seek an individual to direct department productions on a regular basis; teach in the areas of dramatic literature, theatre history, performance studies and/or directing for the stage; and provide academic advising to undergraduates. An MFA in Directing, or a Ph.D. in Theatre Studies, Performance Studies or a relevant allied field, and teaching and directing experience at the college level required. Preferred areas of expertise are musical theatre history, world theatre history, Asian, African or intercultural theatre.
