About the role
The Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Nursing faculty position at our Fairfield, CT campus. The Egan School seeks to inspire students to become leaders across social and healthcare environments who improve health outcomes for all, inclusive of underserved or vulnerable populations.
We are particularly interested in educators with expertise in foundational undergraduate nursing courses. The teaching load is 12 credits each semester (typically 4 classes) for non-tenure track faculty. In addition to teaching, faculty are expected to contribute to the profession and advance the scholarship and service missions of the program, the school, and the university. Faculty members are expected to participate in on-campus events, meetings, committees, and other student- and service-related activities.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in nursing required; doctoral degree in nursing, or enrolled in a doctoral program, preferred.
- Active unencumbered nursing license in Connecticut.
- Academic or nursing leadership experience commensurate with the mission, goals, and expected program outcomes.
- Documented education in teaching and learning principles for adult education, including curriculum development and competency-based assessment, as demonstrated through graduate course work, faculty-development programs, or completion of a certificate program in nursing education.
- Innovative in curricular development and prepared to incorporate simulation pedagogy into courses.
