About the role
The successful candidate will bring with them expertise or an openness to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all of our students. They will teach and provide curricular leadership in the MSW generalist and advanced generalist practice sequence, with particular attention to culturally responsive, community-engaged, and justice-oriented social work practice.
Responsibilities
- Teach MSW generalist and advanced generalist practice courses
- Engage students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds
- Assist in the development of MSW practice curriculum
- Teach in hybrid, online, and in-person modalities
- Contribute to the MSW and BSW programs' mission of preparing culturally responsive social workers
- Perform teaching, advising, and research duties
- Assist with departmental, college, and university-level committees
Requirements
- Master of Social Work from a CSWE-accredited institution
- At least two years of full-time post-master's social work practice experience
- Ph.D. in social work, D.S.W., or a doctorate in a related discipline by the effective date of the appointment
- Experience teaching MSW practice courses
- At least four months of full-time equivalent experience teaching, advising, and/or mentoring students from diverse backgrounds
- Experience teaching in MSW and BSW curricula
Qualifications
- Doctorate in social work, related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience teaching MSW generalist and advanced generalist practice
- Experience with culturally responsive, community-engaged, and justice-oriented social work practice
- Record of scholarly activity
Skills
- Ability to teach in-person, hybrid, and online courses
- Experience with CSWE competency-based education
- Commitment to diversity and excellence

Salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience. Subject to budgetary authorization. Anticipated salary: $80,100-$85,848.
