About the role
The Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminology at Eastern Illinois University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Social Work position to begin January 1, 2027.
Responsibilities
- A Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program is required at time of appointment, with at least 3 years of post MSW practice required.
- A Ph.D. in Social Work, Doctor of Social Work (DSW), or related field is preferred, and ABD applicants will be considered.
- We are seeking applicants with a background in macro social work practice to contribute to our Sociology program and the new interdisciplinary Bachelor of Social Work program.
- Candidates must be committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching and demonstrate potential for research, publication, and service to the discipline/university.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $67,030 - $68,000.
