Assistant Professor of Social Work

About the role

The Department of Social Work invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in our MSW Program beginning Fall 2026.

Responsibilities

• Teach across the curriculum (micro/macro practice, theory, policy and research)
• Teach foundation and advanced micro practice courses
• Develop and maintain an active research agenda
• Serve on University and Department committees
• Support a diverse student body with a variety of ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in social work or related field and Master of Social Work Degree from accredited institution
• 5 years post-MSW social work practice experience in diverse individual and community settings
• Ability to teach across the curriculum (micro/macro practice, theory, policy and research)
• Commitment to the pursuit of social justice
• Possession of a clinical license or being license eligible
• Experience with or interest in digital learning in higher education
• Desire to work with first-generation/graduate students who have been systematically marginalized
• Bilingual (preferred)

Benefits

Compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience. Anticipated hiring range is $7938-$8186 per month for Assistant Professor (12 monthly payments per academic year).
