Assistant Professor of Respiratory Therapy and Director of Clinical Education
Duties/Responsibilities
- Curriculum/course education development
- Teaching courses in the entry-level and degree advancement BSRT programs
- Working with clinical setting partners
- Engaging in scholarship activities (e.g., peer-reviewed publications and professional presentations) related to the discipline
- Engaging in service activities at the university, professional, and community levels
- Participation at the national and state level in professional organizations and activities
- Contribution to community well-being through service related to professional and other expertise
- Supporting the mission of the program and Kinney College of Nursing and Health Professions
About the Role
The position is tenure track and will begin May 11 or when filled.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Holds a Master's Degree
- Holds a valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential and current Indiana state license
- Has a minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care
- Has a minimum of two (2) years of experience teaching, either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/preceptor for students of such programs

About the College
The faculty in the Kinney College of Nursing and Health Professions work collaboratively with other healthcare professional faculty. The support for faculty’s teaching, practice, and scholarship activities is substantially enhanced through grants and other extramural funding. A cutting-edge Clinical Simulation Center is used to enhance student learning and support innovative teaching. The college, in addition to university support, has a four-person technology team that supports online and in-classroom teaching. A dedicated Advising Center for the College provides support for student advising and related activities. All programs are fully accredited and have an exemplary record of grant award successes.
