Assistant Professor of Psychology, Department of Psychology (R0008845)
Wake Forest University’s Department of Psychology invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Analysis and Measurement Theme within an Open Content Area, beginning July 2027.
About the role
We seek applicants whose scholarship advances methodology, measurement, or research design in psychological and behavioral science. The ideal candidate will also have comparable expertise in a content area that complements existing departmental strengths. Examples include—but are not limited to—research on prejudice, bias, discrimination, stereotyping, or other questions within diversity science; or work addressing psychological questions involving artificial intelligence. We welcome candidates whose work expands the Analysis and Measurement theme through quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods approaches.
The successful candidate will publish and teach in both Analysis and Measurement and their content area, supervise undergraduate research assistants, honors students, and master’s students, and contribute to a diverse and inclusive educational environment. The department offers BA and research-oriented general MS degrees.
Responsibilities
- Teach four courses per academic year, including introductory and advanced undergraduate courses and, potentially, graduate-level courses.
- Maintain a robust program of scholarship aligned with disciplinary standards.
- Supervise undergraduate and master’s student research.
- Serve the department, College of Liberal Arts, and university through committee work and other contributions.
Requirements
- Earned Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field by the start date; ABD candidates are invited to apply.
- Demonstrated ability to teach courses in area(s) of expertise and general undergraduate/graduate courses.
- Record of initiating and sustaining original research and scholarship.
- Experience supervising student research.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive academic environment.
