About the role
The Department of Psychology at Loyola University Maryland invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. Specialty area is open, with particular interest in clinical and/or counseling psychology.
Responsibilities
- Teach 6 courses per academic year (5 in the first year), including needed courses such as:
- Psychological assessment
- Developmental/clinical-developmental psychology
- Research methods/statistics
- Biopsychology
- Neuropsychology
- Health psychology
- Maintain an active research agenda, with a tenure-track research sabbatical in the 4th year
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate students
- Supervise PsyD dissertations
- Demonstrate strong leadership potential
- Contribute to a collegial professional climate within the department
Requirements
- Earned doctorate in psychology by July 2027
- Record of promise as a scholar
- Ability to create an inclusive classroom and infuse multicultural content
- Commitment to the Jesuit educational mission
- Previous teaching experience preferred

The Department of Psychology serves over 700 students across B.A., M.S. (clinical professional counseling), and Psy.D. (clinical psychology, APA accredited) programs. The department follows a scientist-practitioner model.

Pay
$73,500 to $76,250 USD per year
