About the Role
Initial rank: Assistant Professor (Associate/Full may also apply). Teaching load: 24 credits/year (12 fall, 12 spring) – 4 courses per semester. Position is indefinite.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in the ABA graduate program and undergraduate Psychology program aligned with candidate's specialty
- Teach at Lakewood, NJ campus and possibly off-site locations
- Primarily evenings, with some daytime assignments; summer teaching (evenings) may be available
- Engage in scholarship: publications and presentations at state/national conferences
- Participate in department, school, and university service
- Active involvement in state/national ABA professional organizations
Requirements
- Earned doctorate (preference: Psychology or Psychology & ABA or Psychology & Special Education); ABD candidates considered if doctorate completed by December 2026
- Must hold BCBA or BCBA-D credential (non-negotiable)
- Potential for excellence in university instruction and sustained scholarship production
- Must be U.S. work authorized
About the Department
Undergraduate programs: B.A. in Psychology, B.S. in Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Psychology (joint with Rutgers). Graduate programs: M.A. in ABA, M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, M.A./CAGS/Psy.D. in School Psychology. The ABA program is designed to meet BCBA Pathway 2 requirements and is actively seeking ABAI accreditation.
Pay
$65,000 – $75,000 annually
