About the Role

The Department of Psychological Science at Ball State University welcomes applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. The successful applicant will teach in our undergraduate psychological science major and master’s program in psychology, have a research program that complements our department’s current research interests and involves undergraduate and graduate students, and contribute to the service activities of our department and discipline.

We are seeking applicants who teach and conduct research in clinical or counseling psychology, particularly psychopathology, personality, psychological assessment, health psychology, and/or research/methodology courses. The position is open until filled with a consideration date of December 1, 2027. Candidates submitting application materials on or before this date will receive full consideration.

Responsibilities

• Teach graduate and undergraduate classes in the Department of Psychological Science programs
• Supervise graduate and/or undergraduate student research (e.g., honors theses)
• Remain current in and contribute to research in specialty area
• Contribute to the service activities of the department and discipline

Requirements

• Ph.D. in psychology or related field from an accredited institution (ABDs will be considered if the doctorate is obtained by date of appointment)
• Clinical and Counseling PhDs must be from APA or CPA accredited programs

Preferred Qualifications

Special consideration will be given to applicants who can teach one or more of the following:

• Psychopathology
• Personality
• Psychological assessment
• Health psychology
• Research/methodology courses

Pay

$65,000–$75,000
