About the role

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician educator track.

Responsibilities

  • Expertise in the specific area of hand surgery, with a focus on microsurgery.
  • Board certified with the American Board of Plastic Surgery or eligible for such certification.
  • Teaching responsibilities may include clinical and didactic instruction of medical students and plastic or orthopedic surgery residents.
  • Clinical responsibilities may include building a practice in hand surgery, with additional duties in either plastic or orthopedic surgery depending on candidate training.
  • Research or scholarship responsibilities may include clinical and/or basic science investigations in the field of plastic or orthopedic surgery and, specifically, hand surgery.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have completed an accredited hand surgery fellowship.

Requirements

  • An M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
  • Board certified with the American Board of Plastic Surgery or eligible for such certification.

Qualifications

  • Experience in hand surgery, with a focus on microsurgery.
  • Ability to teach medical students and plastic or orthopedic surgery residents.
  • Ability to build a practice in hand surgery, with additional duties in either plastic or orthopedic surgery.
  • Interest in conducting research or scholarship in the field of plastic or orthopedic surgery and, specifically, hand surgery.
  • Completion of an accredited hand surgery fellowship (preferred).
