Assistant Professor of Nursing, Non-tenured Track
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, student-centered instruction to the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs, encompassing classroom, laboratory, and clinical learning environments.
- Collaborate with faculty to design, implement, and evaluate nursing curricula and learning experiences.
- Develop course syllabi, exams, assignments, and instructional materials, including digital and audiovisual content.
- Absess student performance through grading, feedback, and competency evaluations.
- Provide academic advisement and schedule conferences to discuss their progress and support student success.
- Oversee students in clinical environments to ensure safe patient care and foster clinical decision-making skills.
- Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum planning, and selection of course materials.
- Serve on departmental, school, or university committees as assigned.
- Promote a culture of equity, inclusion, and academic freedom, fostering a welcoming environment for all students and colleagues.
- Develop and deliver continuing education programs.
- Promote interprofessional education and collaborative learning experiences.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned or directed to support departmental needs and align with the mission of the School of Nursing.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN).
- Active RN license and eligibility for licensure in Pennsylvania.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a registered nurse.
- Doctoral degree (DNP or PhD), preferred.
- Experience in clinical nursing education, preferred.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Hours
- Evening teaching assignments may be required.
