Assistant Professor of MIS/Analytics
Position Summary
Austin Peay State University’s College of Business, in pursuit of AACSB accreditation, invites applicants for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems (MIS) with teaching and research interests in MIS and Data Analytics to begin in August 2024.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Management Information Systems and Data Analytics, conducting research, and contributing to the academic and professional development of students and faculty.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Management Information Systems and Data Analytics
- Conduct research in the field of Management Information Systems and Data Analytics
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and student learning experiences
- Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and initiatives
- Engage in professional development activities and maintain currency in the field
Requirements
- PhD in Management Information Systems or a related field by the start date
- Strong record of scholarly activity, including publications and presentations
- Experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Management Information Systems and Data Analytics
- Ability to teach in both online and face-to-face formats
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Qualifications
- Doctorate in Management Information Systems or a related field
- Research experience in Management Information Systems and Data Analytics
- Effective teaching skills, particularly in an online environment
- Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment

The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
