Assistant Professor of Medicine in Translational Medicine and Human Genetics - Tenure Track

About the role

The Division of Translational Medicine and Human Genetics in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the tenure track.

Responsibilities

• Teaching responsibilities may include teaching medical students within the clinical setting and participation as an active member of one or more Penn graduate groups.
• Clinical responsibilities may include seeing patients in the outpatient setting and as an attending on an inpatient consult service.
• Research or scholarship responsibilities may include establishing an innovative, independent research program in human genetics, genomic medicine, and/or translational science that will attract and maintain extramural funding from various sources.
• The successful candidate will be expected to publish scholarship in peer reviewed journals.

Requirements

• Applicants must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D degree.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate should have a strong academic record and a proven ability to conduct independent research.
• Experience in translational medicine, human genetics, or related fields is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment is essential.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
