Assistant Professor of Medicine in Translational Medicine and Human Genetics - Clinician Educator Track

About the role

The Division of Translational Medicine and Human Genetics in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician-educator track.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in funded research involving human genetics, genomic medicine, implementation science in genomics, return of actionable genomic results, or ethical/legal/social implications (ELSI) of genomics research.
  • Teach genetic counseling students, medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Serve as a research mentor to MSGC students and genetic counselors.
  • Potentially participate in the leadership of Penn’s MSGC program.
  • See patients in the outpatient setting and/or an inpatient consult service.

Requirements

  • A PhD and/or MD degree.

Qualifications

  • Evidence of scholarship is required in the Clinician Educator track.
  • Embrace and reflect diversity in the broadest sense.

Skills

  • Expertise in the specific area of genomic medicine and/or genetics counseling.
