About the role

The Marketing Area in the Orfalea College of Business at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, is inviting applicants for a full-time, academic year, tenure track position in Marketing (Sales) beginning August 17, 2026. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience of the individual selected, with the anticipated hiring range for Assistant Professor being $139,100 - $153,800.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Marketing (Sales)
• Develop and maintain a strong research agenda
• Contribute to the college's mission through service and outreach
• Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines

Requirements

• A Ph.D. in marketing or a closely related discipline from accredited institutions
• Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching
• Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary settings
• Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language

Qualifications

• Strong teaching and research record
• Preference for expertise in sales and relevant work experience

Schedule

Full-time academic year appointment, with the possibility of teaching two consecutive semesters (Fall/Spring, Spring/Summer or Summer/Fall) out of three semesters offered annually.
