About the role

The Marketing Area in the Orfalea College of Business at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure-line, academic year position in Marketing beginning August 17, 2026. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience of the individual selected, with the anticipated hiring range for Assistant Professor being $139,100 - $153,800.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in marketing.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of marketing curricula.
  • Develop and maintain a strong research program in marketing.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at conferences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to enhance interdisciplinary research and teaching.
  • Participate in service activities, including committee work and advising students.

Requirements

  • A Ph.D. in marketing or a closely related discipline from accredited institutions.
  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language.

Qualifications

  • Academic qualifications under AACSB standards.
  • Experience and commitment to developing a strong teaching and research record.

Skills

  • Expertise in marketing.
  • Relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication.
