Essential Duties
Full-time faculty members of Paine College are professional educators who have the responsibility for fulfilling the College’s mission, vision, ethical and spiritual values, and Strategic Plan. This is done in a manner that is consistent with the College’s Biblical Foundation Statement, the Christian Philosophy of Education, and other college policies.
Responsibilities
- Deliver effective instruction
- Facilitate, access, and document student learning
- Manage the classroom environment
- Prepare and provide appropriate feedback to students on course assignments
- Teach 15 (or 16) semester credits of undergraduate courses, including evening, weekend, hybrid, and/or online courses (if available)
- Assign courses by the Department Chair in consultation with the faculty member
- Engage in scholarly activity
- Serve on college committees
- Supervise undergraduate student research projects
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Attend Departmental and Faculty meetings as scheduled
Position Criteria
- Earned Ph.D. (or terminal degree) in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution
- Previous collegiate teaching experience is desired
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written
- Strong interpersonal skills with students, faculty, staff, and administration
- Physical Requirements: Lifting: 10%, Sitting: 35%, Standing: 35%, Walking: 20%
